How do I know when it is time to raise my freelance rates, and how do I communicate that increase to existing clients?

You can be considering increasing your rate when you discover that your demand is higher than your supply. When you always have clients that want to make use of you and you don't even have time for them all. That means you need to increase to let you know who really values your time. And in the course of this, you need to communicate with your clients, especially the existing ones, at least 30 days before you our execution.

I will advise you to take at least 50 successful gigs in the marketplace before you can think of increasing your rate. By the end of 50 gigs you would have build up your confidence and your work rate would have improved. The quality of your services will no longer be as the minimum level
