I don't think views are overrated , they exist but what content creators should focus on is not just the views but the value their control is offering. A valuable content will not only create engagement but also retain your views and boost your visibility in the business.

This is something i do believe in too. Sometimes views give an impression of good work beiing done but they do not really give the complete picture. Sometimes it is better to have a video that has lower views but has genuine comments, shares nd repeat visitors rather than one that goes viral nd is forgotten afterwards.

I have observed the same, particularly with short-form content, which might go viral instantly through a single video that reaches a number of users without really providing any value in the long run. sometimes, the less visible post has an effect since the viewers remember it and start discussing it.
I am generally more focused on the metrics that are related to saves, comments, and engagement from the returning viewers. Reach is valuable for discovery purposes, yet the growth depends on viewer retention.

This is the reason most content creators keeps begging for likes and comments on their page. The truth is that if you offer valueable content you will get the views and engagements which will give you an edge in the industry. Views alone can't help you survive but value.
