Merging and acquisition are somehow related but there are some differences between the two concepts. While merging may mean when a business owner joins other business owners as a result of effectively carrying out his business plans and aspirations while acquisition may mean taking over other businesses as a result of different factors which may include bankruptcy.

Which one is better? Should a business owner consider merging or total acquisition whenever he's in trouble?
