There are many things that can prevent customers from patronising a particular business. Most of the times, this is usually caused by the business owners. Some of the activities that a business owner can have that will prevent the business from getting more customers is to be selling at a price higher than the normal market price.

What do you think about this? You can share other activities by the business owners that can prevent customers.

Marketing can be confusing or expensive, and some owners rely too much on word-of-mouth or hope customers will just show up. Other times, the message isn't clear so potential customers might not understand why they should choose that business over competitors. Pricing, location, or even the way the business interacts with clients online can also be barriers. Finally, fear of trying new strategies can hold owners back. Basically, getting more customers is about visibility, communication, and willingness to experiment

A lot of times, they're not super clear on who they're trying to sell to, so their marketing is all over the place. Or they know their product is good, but they don't explain it in a way that makes people care. Sometimes the business just isn't showing up where customers are. Pricing can feel off too, like wait, why is this so expensive? And let's be real, owners are busy. They're stuck putting out fires all day instead of actually working on growth.

Most business owners don't sell original. They prefer to be selling lesser products. When the customers know the truth about this, they may want to stop patronizing such a business owner. If they are also selling much more higher than their peers, customers may decide not to buy again from them.

If someone walks into your shop or contacts you online and gets treated badly, they will tell their friends and family about it. Word spreads fast, especially negative experiences. Even if your prices are fair and your products are good, rude staff or slow responses can drive people away permanently.

Location matters more than people think. You could have the best product in town, but if your shop is hidden somewhere nobody walks past, you won't get customers. The same applies online. If your website is hard to find on Google or your social media presence is weak, people simply won't know you exist.

Maybe you are selling winter jackets in a place where it never gets cold, or offering services nobody in that area needs. Research is important before starting or expanding a business. If you don't know what your customers want, you will keep stocking the wrong items or promoting the wrong features.

If customers feel like you are trying to cheat them or hide information, they won't buy from you. This includes things like unclear pricing, fake reviews, or overpromising and underdelivering. People can sense when something feels off, and they will choose a competitor who seems more honest.
