Ask Do you separate your profit from the capital as a small business owner?

Everybody wants to make profit when they do business but it will be better if that is not the main motive of a small business owner. In fact, the profit should be added to the capital in order to expand the business. With this, the business has the tendency of being successful.

Those that always have their profits separated from their capital may not see the business growing. What do you think about this? Share it in the comment section.

I try to keep my profit separate from my capital. It just makes things less confusing. That way, I know what the business is actually making versus what I'm putting back in to keep things going. I usually pay myself a set amount and leave the rest for stuff like supplies, emergencies, or future plans. If I mixed it all together, it'd be hard to tell how the business is really doing.

It is not business wise to be separating profits from the original money as a small business owner. The only time this can be done effectively is when the business is big enough. This means small business owners can still be adding the profit in order to expand the business.

I kind of think of the business money like its own little pot where stuff for running the business, like buying stock or paying bills, stays in the capital side. Profit is the money I can actually take out and use for myself. It just makes things way easier to track and stops me from accidentally spending what's meant to grow the business. Plus, when tax time comes, it's way less stressful. Honestly, it's a small thing

In order to know if your business is making profit, you need to be doing this, you separate cost price from the selling price. However if you are just starting, you may not care about the profit, rather add everything together in order to get your business expanded
