Feasibility studies include all the plans that a business owner which to make in order to make his business successful. It is always important for a business owner to carry out a feasibility study in order to know the weakness and strength of his intending business. Visibility studies if cannot be carried out by the business owner can be carried out by an expert. This will show how a business is to be planned and plan against any challenge that may face the running of the business.

Did you do it before starting your business? How did you do it?

I just checked if people actually wanted what I was planning to offer and if there was enough interest. I also peeked at what other businesses were doing to see how I could stand out. Plus, I thought about how much it'd cost and if I could keep things running until I started making money. It wasn't some huge detailed thing, just some quick research and a gut feeling that it was worth a shot.

There is no way intending business owners can underrate the effects of feasibility study on business that is about to be started. Feasibility study will let the business owners know what the customers really want from business owners. Unfortunately, because of the cost involved, many business owners always run from feasibility study.

I did spend time researching the market, checking out competitors, and asking friends and potential customers for their opinions. I wanted to get a sense of whether people would actually use or buy what I was offering, but I relied more on gut feeling and small experiments than on charts and reports. Looking back, I realize a proper feasibility study could have saved me some trial-and-error headaches, but at the same time, jumping in helped me learn fast and adapt quickly.

A small business feasibility plan is essentially a business plan. I know everyone says this about everything but it really depends on where you are. You would approach it differently in a small town than you would in a major city. I live in the suburb of one the largest cities in the US so it was fairly easy.

I started with something I loved. I love pets. I have 5 of them myself. I knew something in the pet industry was what I wanted to do. I also know retail. I have been in retail for over a decade.

The main reason why most business always fail is that they don't always do some feasibility study to know different ways by which they can make it as a business owner. They need to make sure that they are carrying out researches and other things that the can make them succeed as a business owner.

My feasibility study was mostly pacing around my apartment at 2 AM, convincing myself that the two people who said yeah, I'd buy that counted as market research. I did the bare minimum: checked if competitors existed, if I could afford supplies and if I could survive a year without a salary. No fancy spreadsheets or focus groups. Looking back, that was dumb luck. Some parts crashed and burned because I skipped the deep dive. But other parts worked because I just started.
