Shadow banning is common especially among those that are using Tiktok and as well as Instagram. It is a situation where the contents of the users cannot be seen, as a result be hidden, especially when such a social media user has committed an offence or the other.

Users may knowingly or unknowingly commit a particular offence which may attract shadow banning. Among those offences may be using outdated hashtags and even unnecessary spamming.

This is a really helpful explanation for people who are new to social media or just starting to grow an account. The part about not being able to see your own content is the scariest thing, because you don't even know it's happening unless you check your analytics or ask a friend who doesn't follow you to search for your video.

That TikTok shadow ban thing is actually pretty simple. It means the platform silently blocks your videos from getting shown on the "For You Page," or in search results, without telling you about it. You can still post, and everything looks normal on your own page, but your views just completely drop to almost nothing.

Knowing more about shadow banning may not be that much than knowing fully well how to get out of it. Most of time, users may not even that they have committed offence that may warrant that. So it is better to write to the customer service for the solution

A shadow ban is when a social media platform quietly limits your content without telling you. Your account still works fine but way fewer people see your content. So like, your videos might not show up on the For You page or under hashtags, even though you didn't get any warning or suspension. It just feels like your reach suddenly dies.
Apps are said to do this to deal with spam, bots, or posts that break rules without fully banning someone. But the annoying part is you don't really know for sure if it's happening to you.

Shadow banning is not a good thing for a content creator because it can be frustrating. You put on effort to create content and optimize them but no visibility unknown to you that there is a shadow ban on your profile. I feel it best one is informed about it
