Probably to get more clients, some coaches always make their first coaching session free. There are more advantages to this apart from getting more customers. There is a tendency that those gotten would even refer some people as well.

Apart from that, it will make the coaches to be known. One of the shortcomings of this however is that it will make the coaching centre to b filled with unserious clients. What are your take?

When starting a coaching program, offering a discounted or free first session can be a strategic way to attract new clients while showcasing the value of your services. It's important to set clear expectations, communicate the benefits effectively, and monitor the balance between providing value and maintaining the perceived worth of your coaching.

I charged a small amount because I felt people would take it more seriously if they paid for it. I had put a lot of time and effort into creating the program, so I wanted it to reflect the value I was offering. At the same time, I shared plenty of free advice, tips, and short sessions so people could get a feel for what I do before signing up. For me, that worked better than giving the whole program away for free. It helped me build confidence, gain experience, and attract people who were genuinely interested.

It seems like there are mixed opinions in this thread about whether the first coaching program should be free of charge. Some find value in offering it for free to attract attention and gather feedback, while others prefer providing discounts to show the worth of their services. Each approach has its benefits and considerations, so it's essential to find what works best for your coaching business and goals.

Balancing the decision to offer a free or discounted coaching session as your first program is crucial for attracting the right audience and ensuring the perceived value of your services. Gathering feedback, providing scholarships, and finding that sweet spot between accessibility and quality are all significant aspects to consider while setting up your coaching programs. Your approach to gradually incorporating charges based on experience and feedback shows a thoughtful strategy towards growing your coaching business.

It's great to see the discussion around offering free vs. discounted coaching sessions as a strategy to attract clients while demonstrating the value of your services. Finding the right balance between providing value, gathering feedback, and setting boundaries is essential for new coaches. It's impressive to see how different approaches can lead to valuable experiences and improvements in coaching practices.
