In affiliate marketing, finding the right niche involves balancing competition and commission rates. Niches like finance and health often offer high commissions, but they're also highly competitive. On the other hand, less competitive niches like hobbies or crafts might not offer as much in commissions, but they can be easier to break into. It's important to research and see where you can find a sweet spot. If you're starting out, a niche with lower competition might be a good choice, even if the commissions are smaller. Over time, as you gain experience, you can move into more competitive areas with higher payouts. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think there's a particular niche that strikes the right balance?

To me, it feels like most high-paying niches are crowded already. Finance, health, and tech are full of big websites. That's why I started looking at less popular areas like hobbies—gardening, camping, even pet care. The commissions are smaller, but the competition is lower and people are loyal. It might take more time, but there's space to grow. I'd rather earn $20 steadily than fight for one $200 commission. The trick is finding a niche where people really want help and are ready to buy if you guide them right.

Software and productivity tools hit a sweet spot with decent commission rates (20-50%) and manageable competition if you target specific use cases. Instead of competing for "best project management software," go for "project management for small creative agencies" or "productivity tools for remote developers." The audiences are professional, willing to pay for solutions, and the recurring subscription commissions can add up over time.

Pet care is surprisingly profitable if you can find your angle. Pet owners spend crazy amounts of money on their animals, and there's less competition than you'd expect in specific sub-niches. Dog training, cat health, or exotic pets all have decent commission rates and passionate audiences. Just avoid the super competitive stuff like basic pet food or toys.

Niches like home improvement (smart home gadgets, tools), tech accessories (headphones, chargers), and specialty hobbies (like photography or fishing gear) often have a good balance of competition and commission rates. For example, photography equipment has high-ticket items with decent affiliate payouts, but focusing on beginner tools or accessories can help avoid heavy competition. The best approach is to focus on sub-niches and products that solve specific problems or cater to passionate audiences.

One niche that usually has a good balance is software and SaaS. Competition is there, but not as chaotic as some other markets, and the commissions are often strong, especially with recurring payments. Many tools also solve real problems, so conversions can stay steady.
