Ask What's the minimum monthly search volume you look for in a niche?

When picking a niche for affiliate marketing, the monthly search volume matters because it shows how much interest there is in a topic. A good starting point is aiming for a niche with at least 5,000 to 10,000 searches per month. This range often means there's enough people looking for products or information, so you have a chance to earn commissions without competing in oversaturated markets. However, it's not just about the numbers. You should also check if the niche has products people are likely to buy and if those products offer decent affiliate payouts. A smaller niche with high buyer intent can sometimes be better than a huge one with low profits. It's smart to use tools like Google Keyword Planner to get a sense of search trends. Then, test the niche to see if it works for you. What are your thoughts on this?

Honestly, I've had good luck with niches under 2,000 searches a month. If it's a very specific topic and people are ready to buy, you don't need a huge audience. Less competition means I rank easier, and those few clicks can actually convert better. Not every niche has to be big to make money. Sometimes the hidden corners of the internet are where the best opportunities are. I always say, look at buyer intent, not just traffic numbers. I'd rather sell 5 things a week than get 5,000 views with no sales.

Search volume is okay to look at, but what really matters is whether people are trying to buy something. I'd much rather target searches where people are looking for "best running shoes" or "cheap laptops" than general stuff like "how to run" where they just want free tips. Look for keywords where people are clearly shopping around or comparing products because those visitors actually spend money.

For me, aiming for at least 500 to 1,000 searches a month seems reasonable. Anything below that might not give enough traffic to make a big impact. But it's also good to look at trends. Sometimes a low-volume keyword can become popular quickly, especially if it's tied to a current event or trend. So while I focus on the numbers, I'm also keeping an eye on what's happening in the niche. I'd love to hear how others decide what search volume is ideal.

From my own experience, there is no strict "perfect" number that works for every niche, but I usually don't judge a niche only by search volume alone. What matters more is whether the traffic is relevant and can actually convert into clicks or sales.
