I'm trying to figure this out. I keep hearing that email lists are important for e-commerce. I started setting things up on my store. Still not sure if it's working.

I added a pop-up for new visitors. I offered a small discount in exchange for their email. I also placed a signup form in the footer. A few people signed up. Nothing crazy yet. I sent out a welcome email and a short follow-up sequence.

I've been tracking everything through my email platform. I'm not getting much engagement. I'm wondering if I'm missing something. How do you build an email list organically from your e-commerce site?
