My most unplanned purchase was a set of LED lights for my desk. I wasn't even thinking about upgrading my workspace, but I saw them on sale the same day I got an affiliate commission. It turned out to be a great decision because they make my desk setup feel much cozier and now they're in the background of my YouTube videos, so it kind of worked out as a business investment too.
Sometimes the funny part is that the unexpected purchase is not even expensive. It can just be random items bought because the money arrived at the right moment. Affiliate income can create that feeling of "let me enjoy this small reward," especially after putting in effort for weeks before seeing results.
For me it was a mechanical keyboard that wasn't even part of the plan that week. The affiliate payment just came in, and the discount made it harder to ignore. Funny enough, it later became useful for daily work because typing felt smoother and faster. Sometimes those random purchases end up being more useful than expected after some time passes.
