In some contexts, some have made a mistake of using advertising as marketing. While it is true that both have some similarities, and things that make them have the same goal, there are many differences between the two terms.

Marketing in digital marketing may be very broad. It may aim at promoting anything that has to do with the business. That's why mostly in digital marketing, brand is aimed at being promoted, sales are aimed at being increased and as well, conversion and engagement are aimed at being focused on.

Advertising on the other hand aims at promoting just sales. It wants the digital marketers to want to have more sales to their businesses. What can you say about this?

Marketing is the whole plan like figuring out who your customers are, building your brand, and getting the word out in lots of ways. Advertising is just one piece of that plan. It's all about making ads to catch people's attention and get them interested in what you're selling. So, marketing includes stuff like doing research, posting on social media, sending emails, and yep, running ads too. Advertising is more about those paid spots you see online, on TV, or wherever.

Marketing is figuring out who your audience is, making your brand look good, posting on social media, sending emails, and just making people notice and like your product. Advertising is just one part of that. It's the paid stuff, like Facebook ads, Google ads, or YouTube ads, to grab attention fast. So basically, marketing is the whole game plan, and advertising is one move in that plan. Advertising helps, but marketing is way more than just ads

In my opinion, marketing and advertising are related but definitely not the same. Marketing is the bigger picture it includes research, branding, content creation, customer engagement, pricing, and overall strategy. Advertising is just one part of marketing, mainly focused on paid promotion to drive awareness or sales. In digital marketing, you can market a brand through SEO, social media engagement, email campaigns, and content without running ads at all. Advertising is more direct and sales-driven, but marketing is about building long-term relationships and trust. So I'd say advertising supports marketing, but it doesn't replace it.

I think marketing and advertising are related, but they are not the same thing. Marketing is the bigger process that includes everything you do to attract and keep customers. This can include research, content, branding, SEO, emails, and more.
